Is Bodmin Country House Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
The holiday park offers excellent facilities for children including FootGolf, swimming pool access and Segway adventures. Two fishing lakes provide safe supervised activities while the large garden offers space for games. The conservatory creates additional indoor play space during poor weather. However, the property lacks specific children's equipment like cots or high chairs.
For Couples
The four-poster king-size bedroom with ensuite bath and private balcony creates a romantic retreat. The hot tub provides intimate relaxation while the lakeside setting offers peaceful walks. The conservatory sitting area gives couples private space away from larger groups. However, as a large group property, it may lack the intimate atmosphere smaller couples prefer.
Pet Friendly
Bodmin Country House operates a strict no pets policy and does not welcome any animals. The property management does not allow dogs, cats or any other pets on the premises. Pet owners must seek alternative accommodation as no exceptions are made to this policy. The lakeside location and fishing facilities make this restriction particularly firm.

Bodmin Country House Reviews

The holiday overall was excellent to the sense of being able to drive to nearby beaches and attractions. In the shower areas, there were no shower mats to accommodate the older ages in the group. Safety was limited in this case. The accommodation was amazing, however, we entered into the property with some maintenance issues before even starting our holiday The downstairs room connecting to the lounge area had an ongoing leak from when we arrived, even after maintenance tried their best to fix it, it continued until we left. In the lounge area, there was a pillow that was ripped open with stuffing coming out, we had to move it to the side room so it didn't get worse. Other than the small points made, the location was amazing, the holiday complex was lovely and calm and the staff were amazing with any issuesaccommodations we may have needed
Expensive but huge house. However stank of rancid oil smells on arrival. Luckily we could leave the dirty mostly rotten windows open. Had to wipe down kitchen worktops which looked clean but we're rough and sticky when touched. Cooker hood dripping with oil. One dishwasher disgusting. On our drive home was rung and accused of dog hair on sofas, none of us even has a dog. Hot tub controls faulty with little adjustment. Overall we overlooked the faults and enjoyed staying there but not up to the standards we were expecting.
Very spacious bar the kitchen which isnt big enough for the property. Ideally located for visiting attractions. Loved the hot tub. Big bedrooms. Needs some TLC. Broken taps and lights not a great impression. Paintwork needs addressing. Quiet location and generally lovely property.

If i can give an advise as a customer for future improvements is that the house needs more lights outside for the night time. ..Someone who smoke would appreciatte it!! Also the heating always switch off at night and it becomes very chilli... For younger kids its not good as they sleep without the blanket most of them. But in rest property it is great!!! Nothing to complain!!!

We stayed here for my husbands 40th birthday with a group of friends! We had the most amazing stay and will definitely be returning the house was incredible & was exactly what we needed! Thank you x
Georgina
Really lovely stay! There are a few things that could have improved. The master room when we arrived was full of at least 20 flys and quite a few a few dead ones on the floor. The room at the back left had black mold around the windows which would come off easily just needs a little bit of love. A few of the toilet roll holders a just about hanging on and one of the toilets is coming away from the wall. A few maintenance bits but over all the house is gorgeous and would stay again. Thank you for having us! PS. A few pint glasses wouldnt go a miss!
Mervin
Amazing property, we loved our stay here, the rooms are really nice and clean. A really modern kitchen and living space, comfy spacious rooms and an amazing back garden a hot tub that we loved! Just a few maintenance issues the windows and entrances throughout the property are in need of repair and are quite dirty. BIRD POO covered the balconies and some areas around the house, making the balconies unusable this was the biggest problem and really needs addressing. The birds actually live along the roof line around the house so there's a bed of poo under each nest, not nice at all. There was also no hot water in one of the showers. There was a musty smell throughout the house when we arrived, took a couple of days to get rid of and they had the wrong names on the welcome message, would've felt nice to see our own
It was definitely a wow moment when we walked in we had been at The Green in ... It was definitely a wow moment when we walked in we had been at The Green in Liskard for our daughters wedding for 3 days and decided to finish the week off before heading back home to the midlands there were 13 of us including the bride and groom who joined us for 2 days the cottage was just perfect in every way and a fabulous end to an amazing week definitely recommend and hopefully will be back thank you
Great house for our group with lovely bedrooms. Quiet spot with lovely views and good location. Outside the garden furniture was dirty and cushions left out with bird droppings on them. Bins were dirty Hairdryer not working and PAT testing out of date Some core basics missing which we expected to be standard in a house of this size and price e.g. tea towel hand soap in toilets
Really enjoyed it, a couple of maintenance issue but sorted out within a very short space of time. A big thank you to all team especially Natasha she was very accommodating, friendly and professional in dealing with any issues when required.

It is a great house with large rooms and plenty of space but annoyingly you have to go through a bedroom to access the conservatory, which would be a really good second reception room downstairs. The hot tub was well used throughout the week. If you are s gym goer the onsite gym is very good and swimming pool looks like it will be lovely, but this was not open. The location is amazing for reaching the south and north coast beaches 20 minutes south snd between 25 30 minutes north. Bodmin is 10 minutes away snd full of supermarket options. The maintenance team had to fix a sofa leg, bedroom blinds, chair and unopenable door on day two, but they responded quickly. The kitchen needs some more baking dishes for the oven or atleast a wider selection.
The house its self is fantastic, In need of some minor updates and TLC. The table is broken and doesn't sit 14 as per picture. Extending table doesn't extend as its broken so if like us you all wanted to sit at the table you couldn't. One of the three sofa's the legs were broken so again you couldn't use it. Shower broken in one of the bedrooms, which was not a major issue as there are enough other showers. Drain outside the front door was blocked again not a major issue as we could access from the other end of the building was just a pain as you had to go up and down the stairs and landing. When we booked, we did so on the understanding we could use the onsite pool and facilities these were all closed which was a disappointment for the children and I feel we should have been made aware so as to avoid disappointment on arrival.
The house was very spacious and wellequipped and we really did enjoy our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and responded quickly to the problems we had with the heating, hot tub and hot water. We felt the house needed some improvements though, such as more and better lighting, some new windows fittings loose and unworkable due to rot and an unattached wall fitting which was potentially dangerous. An instructionwelcome booklet would have been useful. Potentially this could be a fantastic place.
The house is amazing just a few little things that would be nice, serving dishes there are not enough. Shame dishwasher didnt work as there was alot of dishes to clean. Recycling could be better you separate in the kitchen but then throw all in one bin outside. WiFi is terrible and with only ten people allowed this was a problem as the house sleeps 14. Sorry a few negatives but on the whole the house was great.
Jillian
Property need a deep clean. .I.e behind curtains windows inside and outside.
Maxwell
Overall OK but overshadowed by no Internet as publishedand inherent hot water fluctuations. Daily phone calls to agent ensuing in nothing being resolved a d holiday ruined with nothing but permanent stress. Hopeless Sykes achieved absolutely nothing a d feel totally etc down and exhausted with the effort of trying to make the best of a bad week
Lovely break with the family massive house well equipped x would love to stay again
No WiFi meant unable to work or Watch football or find childrens entertainment. House is very well equipped and comfortable
Inside the house was so comfortable and clean Outside could do with some updating and the day we left we noticed the jacuzzi was emptied onto the grass which resulted in a soggy lawn ! ! As there are 2 dishwashers would it not be better to supply some dishwasher tabletsliquid instead of washing up liquid !!!
